WHAT THE 5 DAYS INCLUDE
The Comprehensive OSCE support program and 5-day Face to Face OSCE Training is structured as:
Webinar 1: Virtual live training with an expert trainer, basics of OSCE & detailed understanding of skills stations. What to expect and how to start preparing for your exam.
Webinar 2: Virtual live training with an expert trainer, detailed understanding of assessment documentation: NEWS 2 , GCS and the Neurological charts. MUST score for the APIE station and PHQ mental assessment chart.
Day 1: Classroom training with OSCE skills demos and practice of assessing a patient with examples based on the exam’s scenarios. Protocols including hand hygiene, PPE and safety checks. Introduction to ABCDE & Assessing Skills. Introduction to the Planning Section,how to write care plans and tools for writing care plans.
Day 2: Classroom training on the Planning Section. Providing feedback and discussions on candidates care plans written from their assessment stations. Demo & practice in Implementation stations, including reading the medication charts, common medications and practical medication administration.
Day 3: Clinical skills stations with demo and practice of: Intramuscular Injection, Subcutaneous Injection, Blood Glucose Monitoring, Intravenous flush and VIP monitoring,Fine-bore NG Tube insertion, Wound Assessment & Aseptic Non-touch Technique.
Day 4: Clinical skills stations continue with Mid-stream Urine Analysis, Catheter Sample of Urine, Removal of Catheter, PEAK flow assessment and recording, Administration of an Inhaler, Subcutaneous and Intramuscular injections.
Day 5: Classroom training with an OSCE skills MOCK in all APIE and skills stations.
Webinar 3: Virtual live training on the Evidence Based Practice and Professional Values station .
