Tracheostomy Training

Tracheostomy Training

We offer a one day comprehensive tracheostomy course with simulated competencies required to safely care for any patient with a tracheostomy.

Suitable for Nurses, Carers, Therapists or Relatives.

Tracheostomy Awareness

This tracheostomy training course aims to teach participants how to properly care for individuals with a tracheostomy. Furthermore, it seeks to familiarize them with different types of tubes, explain the reasons for tracheostomy procedures, and educate them on the necessary care and management of the tracheostomy site and tube. In addition, it also covers suctioning techniques and handling emergencies, thereby enabling participants to gain the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively work with individuals who have a tracheostomy.
Furthermore, the course combines theory and practice, using multiple manikins and suction machines for active hands on practice which reportedly increases participants’ confidence in their ability to care for clients with a tracheostomy using their newly learned skills. Therefore making it an essential course for any staff responsible for the care of individuals with a tracheostomy.
This course is run regularly as an open course at our training venue in Morden, South London, thereby making it suitable for individuals or smaller groups to book onto. Check out our course dates for availability.
