About Basic Life Support Training

This is a concise introduction to CPR and the use of an AED, significantly helping provide a demonstration of the CPR techniques. However, before considering a clinical role, it is essential to undertake a further BLS Level 2 Course. By enrolling in this advanced course, you can further deepen your understanding and proficiency in life-saving techniques. Consequently, you will be fully prepared and equipped to handle medical emergencies with confidence and competency, making a significant difference in critical situations. 
 

Basic Life Support Course Summary

Basic Life Support (BLS) Level 2 (VTQ)  

Many non-medical professionals, such as teachers, fitness instructors, and childcare 
providers, choose to undergo BLS training to be prepared for emergencies that may occur in their respective settings. 
 
Taking this advanced course will not only enhance your skills and knowledge but also make you better equipped to handle more complex medical situations effectively. As a result, you will be more confident and capable of providing critical care in high-pressure scenarios. 
 

Basic First Aid Level 2 Course  

This course in addition to following the Level 1 course covers: 
Introduction to Infant and Child CPR 
Dealing with a Choking Baby, Child and Adult 
How to treat a Casualty with a Heart Attack 
How to treat a Casualty with a Stroke 

Basic Life Support and AED for Healthcare Professionals Level 2 (VTQ) 

Some professionals need a more extensive CPR / BLS /AED course.  
This course covers Basic Life Support skills and includes skills for Adult, Child and Infant and most importantly healthcare variations especially on the infant CPR. This is ideal for nurses, care workers or medical professionals needing annual updates to complete professional membership.  
 
Healthcare professional are required to update their competency in BLS/CPR each year and this course will enable them to do this. Additionally  to the BLS level 2 it includes further:

All our First Aid courses are taught in line with the Resuscitation Council guidelines, as well as our BLS courses are all taught by experienced nurses with vast clinical and emergency care experience.  

Furthermore, all the courses meet the approval of the organisation Protrainings uk, who are our accrediting centre. They provide VTQ(Vocational Training Qualifications) and accredited qualifications from an Awarding Organisation TQUK. 

First Aid Learning Outcomes 

After successfully completing the course, participants will gain a deeper understanding and ability to perform and CPR for adults, children and babies. Importantly, they will be able to demonstrate basic life support techniques and automated external defibrillator use in line with current national guidelines with healthcare variations as required.  
 
Furthermore participants will become COMPETENT hence CONFIDENT responders. Importantly, dependent on the level of course taken enabling them to provide First Aid in either a workplace or in a healthcare setting.  
 
 
 
 
 

How Many Can Attend Training? 

We will conduct all our First Aid Courses with a maximum of 12 participants, thereby effectively restricting the class size and therefore ensuring the active involvement of all attendees in the practical aspects of the course.

All of our expert clinical tutors are Nurses with an abundance of clinical and complex care experience and knowledge – so you’ll be in great hands! 
 

Course Duration 

 
We offer 3 versions of Basic Life Support training courses: 
 
Basic Life Support Level 1- A 3- hr course.  
Basic Life Support Level 2 -A 4- hr  
Basic Life Support for Healthcare staff - A 5-hr course.  

Certification 

Participants will be issued with certificates of attendance valid for a period of 3 years.  
 
Learners will complete an end-of-course knowledge assessment and practical assessments allowing a demonstration of their understanding. 
 
These courses meet HSE, CQC and Awarding Organisations requirements and are available as ProTrainings CPD or Regulated Qualification
